Manuscript Submission Guidelines

As one of the first and only law journals of its kind, the Chicanx-Latinx Law Review has published exceptional and innovative legal scholarship centering the Latinx community for over fifty years.  When evaluating work for publication, we prioritize timeliness, depth of analysis, clarity, and use of authority.

To be considered, a manuscript must be double-spaced and use 12-point Times New Roman font for the body, 10-point Times New Roman font for the footnotes, and 1-inch margins. We recommend manuscripts contain between 10,000 and 15,000 words.  Authors are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter.

Personal Narrative Submission Guidelines

We seek personal narratives that highlight the diverse voices of the Latinx community.  These narratives may discuss any aspect of the Latinx experience and are not required to relate to the law.

To be considered, a personal narrative must be double-spaced, use 12-point Times New Roman font for the body, and include 1-inch margins.  Personal narratives are not required to have citations or legal authority, as we assume narratives will be based on one’s personal observations and lived experience.  We recommend personal narratives contain between 250 and 1,000 words.  In addition, we encourage authors to submit a resume and cover letter describing their background and reason for submitting their narrative.

Please submit either by email at cllr@lawnet.ucla.edu with “CLLR Volume 41 Submission” in the subject line or via Scholastica here: https://scholasticahq.com. The deadline to submit is August 1, 2024, at 11:59 PM PST.  Please do not hesitate to email us if you have any questions.

Thank you for your interest.  We look forward to reading your submissions!

Sincerely,

Chicanx-Latinx Law Review
